The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services has put up for discussion a draft government resolution to increase tariffs for heat supply and hot water for the population from November 1, 2026.

The document provides for a revision of prices for heat-supplying organizations throughout the republic, including Karakalpakstan, Tashkent and all regions. In the explanatory note, the developers refer to the presidential decree of March 11, 2025, on the gradual increase of tariffs to the cost price by 2030, as well as the rise in prices for fuel and energy resources from June 1, 2026.

In Tashkent, for subscribers of Veolia Energy Tashkent, the daily cost of heating may increase from 241.44 to 314 soum per 1 square meter. The cost of 1 cubic meter of hot water by meter will increase from 8,928.67 to 11,607 soum. In the absence of a meter, the norm will be 45,330 soum per person per month, and for residents of hostels with shared showers - 33,720 soum. The cost of thermal energy will increase to 203,636 soum per 1 Gcal (in the Uznews publication, it is indicated as 206,636 soum).

New rates have been developed for regional suppliers. For example, in Samarkand, heating is proposed to be set at the level of 279 soum per square meter per day, in Navoi - 141 soum, and in Nurabad, Samarkand region - 585 soum. For legal entities, the tariffs should be approved by the Interdepartmental Tariff Commission within three days after the document is approved.

What it means

In the event of the adoption of the project, the new rates will come into force on November 1, 2026; public discussion of the document will last until October 28.
