Annual inflation in Uzbekistan in September 2026 was 6.4%

In September 2026, consumer prices in Uzbekistan grew by 0.7%, and the annual inflation reached 6.4%. This was reported by the National Committee on Statistics.

According to the National Committee on Statistics, the annual inflation rate accelerated from 6.2% in August to 6.4% in September, but was 1.6 percentage points lower than the level in September 2025 (8%). Since the beginning of 2026, the price growth has been 4.2% compared to 5.1% for the same period last year.

Food products rose in price by 1% over the month, services by 0.9%, and non-food products by 0.3%. In the category of products, prices for tomatoes (by 14.2%), cucumbers (by 13.5%), carrots (by 12.4%), and eggs (by 5.3%) grew the most. At the same time, citrus fruits became cheaper by 12%, and grapes by 5.7%.

In the services sector, a significant increase was recorded in the payment for public kindergartens - on average by 6.8% (the committee linked this to the growth of the base settlement value), legal services rose in price by 6.6%, and contract training in public universities by 6.3%. Among fuels, gasoline of the AI-95 brand and liquefied propane added 4.2% in price, while the cost of methane did not change over the month.

Among the regions, the largest annual price increase was recorded in Tashkent (7%), as well as in the Andijan and Fergana regions (6.7% each). The lowest level of annual inflation was observed in the Syrdarya region - 5.4%. At the same time, the maximum price growth over the month was noted in the Surkhandarya region - 0.99%.
