Uzbekistan studies creation of joint transport enterprise with Azerbaijan

Uzbekistan is increasing cargo transportation through the Caspian Sea and is working on launching a joint transport enterprise with Azerbaijan. This was reported by the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan.

The issue of transport interaction was raised by Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov on September 25 at the II Azerbaijan International Investment Forum. According to the ministry, over the past two to three years, the volume of cargo transportation through the territory of Azerbaijan has doubled, with particular attention being paid to the development of the Middle Corridor.

During the forum, investments in the oil refining sector and SOCAR's intentions to form a network of gas stations in Uzbekistan were also discussed.

In addition, the participants noted the implementation of joint projects in the automotive industry, energy sector, pharmaceuticals, mining industry, production of textile products and building materials, as well as in the processing of agricultural products.
