Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the development of Andijan region

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the socio-economic development of Andijan region, support for entrepreneurship and growth of population incomes.

In the first half of this year, the region's economy grew by 8.8%, industry by 9.2%, services by 16.1%, and the volume of investments by 8.9%. At the meeting, it was emphasized that over the past ten years, 20 trillion soums have been allocated to the region from the republican budget, and banks have provided 90 trillion soums to businesses. This year, 6 trillion soums have been allocated to improve the well-being of residents.

Based on the experience of Karakalpakstan, it was decided to introduce the positions of project managers for the remaining 13 regions. The project manager in Andijan will be responsible for forming a new investment model for the region. Artificial intelligence will be involved to analyze the potential of each district in the fields of industry, services and agriculture, after which a plan will be drawn up to attract foreign investment.

In addition, it is planned to expand the activities of 104 enterprises with a turnover of over 100 billion soums to create 20-30 thousand jobs. Technological modernization will be carried out at four enterprises with an annual turnover of more than 1 trillion soums to increase added value by 40-50%. For next year, the region has been set the task of ensuring economic growth of at least 10%, attracting $5 billion in investments and increasing exports to $1.5 billion.
