Language violations found in about 28% of inspected signs and ads over 9 months of 2026

The share of violations was around 28%. Most often, complaints concerned the language: 975 advertising objects and 2,344 signs and announcements were not in the state language. Additionally, 336 advertising media and 841 other objects had spelling errors or incorrect word usage.

According to the committee, measures were taken to quickly eliminate the deficiencies in the identified cases. The agency's employees also explained the norms of language and advertising legislation to the owners of beauty salons, car services, and construction material stores and reminded them of their responsibility.

The committee refers to Article 6 of the Law "On Advertising", which states that advertising in Uzbekistan is placed in the state language, and other languages are allowed for duplication if the established conditions are met. The requirements for preserving the language and semantic form apply to trademarks, service marks, and other registered designations. The agency separately emphasizes the literacy of outdoor advertising: correct word spelling, orthography, and style.

The committee called on entrepreneurs to comply with the legislation on the state language and advertising and announced that monitoring of compliance with these norms will continue.
